Acknowlegements
I would sincerely like to thank those who helped me compile the information for this
website. I would like to especially mention Robert George (Bob) Lilley who now lives
in Warrambool. He gave me so much invaluable information both over the phone and in
his various letters. Barbara Hill, whose support and checking of various details was
of a tremendous help. Others to whom I am most grateful for their time, effort and
information are Ray Lilley, Lorna Armitstead, Shirley Lilley, George Clarke, Shirley
Askew, Janelle Lilley, Glen Lilley, Kay Lilley, Joan Scannell, David Lilley, Arthur Askew,
Vera Oman, Graeme Askew, Julie Hamilton, Mark Hill and Sam Scannell.
More recently finding Brian James Lilley in Bedford, UK. and discovering all the work
he has done in researching his book 'Three Hundred Years of Lilley Family History' has
been wonderful inspiration to me. The sharing of information has opened up many
links from the past to the present that might have otherwise gone undetected.
In addition to the abovementioned people, I would like to thank the
following organisations and acknowledge the following publications all of which helped in
the preparation of this website. The Church of The Latter Day Saints in Charlestown,
Newcastle City Library, Newcastle Family History Society, The Public Records Office
in Victoria, The Victorian State Library, The National Library in Canberra, The Ballarat
Star, The Geelong Advertiser and Back to Ecklin. Also the world wide web
and in particular Tripod for hosting this site and also Patricia Downes
website.
Contributions
I would be very grateful for any piece of information, no matter how
small, that can be contributed to this project. It doesn't have to be a Gedcom file,
a few lines in an e-mail would be fine.
Also I would like some photographs to include in the Photo Album.
